Founding director

A 130m long elegant pedestrian bridge crossing the River Aire. The bridge serves as the centrepiece of a regeneration initiative in the former mining town of Castleford, Yorkshire. The bridge is S-shaped on plan and follows the profile of an existing Victorian weir. The bridge deck hovers above the V-shaped supports and is generously wide to allow people to enjoy the riverscape, transforming the bridge into a destination. Konrad led the structural engineering design team whilst working at Alan Baxter & Associates.

Bridge won numerous prestigious awards, including 2009 RIBA Award and ACE Engineering Excellency Award 2009.
