Proposed single storey extension above a 1930’s 3-storey existing building, with new steel frames strategically located above underlying existing frame structure.

The development also includes a challenging two storey extension above an existing 1970’s single storey building abutting to the rear of the 3-storey building. The proximity of the Kennet and Avon Canal to the existing building  poses a significant constraint on the proposed superstructure which has been schemed as a lightweight steel structure bridging across the existing building to land strategically on existing underlying structure, thus minimize any disruption to the commercial activities at ground floor level of the existing building.
