55m span pedestrian and cycle bridge providing the Poplar Riverside with a new crossing across the River Lea. The complex geometry is derived from a torus and the bridge structure is conceived as a shell from ultra-high performance fibre reinforced concrete allowing thinner structural sections. Cast-in perforations in the bridge shell structure allow cross-views along the river. Konrad led the structural engineering design team whilst working at Alan Baxter & Associates.
