Competition entry for a 100m pedestrian bridge across the River Irwell in Salford, Manchester, UK. The bridge draws inspiration from the rich heritage of iconic bridges in Greater Manchester and is sculpted as a series of three arches resembling the vertebrae in a spine. V-shaped steel arms cantilever from the arches to support a lightweight deck that hovers above the river to provide a key link to the park.
